Madwifi & Suse 9.2
hi all!!
I am having sooooooooooooo much problems trying to install the madwifi driver in Suse 9.2. I even update the kernell to 2.6.8. i downloaded the cvs for the madwifi could not find the rpmś But when i do the configure: linux:/usr/local/madwifi # ./configure bash: ./configure: No existe el fichero o el directorio linux:/usr/local/madwifi # make Checking if all requirements are met... FAILED Only kernel versions 2.4.x and above are supported. You have . make: *** [configcheck] Error 1 linux:/usr/local/madwifi # but my kernel says: linux:/usr/local/madwifi # uname -r 2.6.8-24.14-default linux:/usr/local/madwifi # i read that maybe i need to recompile the kernel as normal here but did not really undertood this. Any one had a similar problem?? Thanks in advance |
and,
Madwifi is allready in th 9.2 distro has been since 9.0 as far as i know. it should have detected and been installed if you have an Atheros chip card. I have a NETGEAR PCMCIA card, just plugged it in, was detected, named, went to yast to configure it. anything else you need to leave some detail about the problem, not just the detail of the problem-trying-to-repair-the-problem. i.e. Start at the begining. i'm guessing you're not just trying to compile you own as you were looking for an RPM. As far as that goes do you have all the other sources and libs it may need -generally kernel sources are needed for Mods .2, it looks as tho configure failed so there is no use trying -make. I don't speak italian well but it look like the config file wasn't there. But i digress, let's deal will the first prob. |
