Mac OSX Server
Hello, this is either my first, or one of my first posts. I'm not a newbie to linux, i do quiet a bit, but this is an area I haven't fiddled in. What we want to do in our classroom environment, currently has mostly Macs, since it's an AV class, but has PCs as well being a computer repair and networking class as well. Couple of the PCs run windows and linux, so what we want to do is get rid of windows completely. The thing about that is, students log into the mac server for their own desktop environment and such. Macs work great, windows it works well enough, but we want to do it on windows, using either kdm gdm ect. Is this possible? How would i go about doing it? If kernel recompile is needed, that is perfectly fine. We want to make it as simple as easy as possible for the, less savvy students. We know we can connect to the server using telnet/ssh type stuff, but that's not easy for the students.
I'm no longer a student, just a friend of the teacher who, he himself isn't super linux user, but he knows enough, plus i'm always around helping out. If i can get this working, it frees a classroom from windows, help a friend out.
