logging into my location Id


Previously I was given an location Id in a server for storing data .. And I used to access it with the help of Windows .. Now I have switched over to SUSE .. How to connect to that location ??

to be honest, i cannot make heads or tails of your question
perhaps you could be alittle more precice?
who hosts the server?
exactly _how_ did you access this from windows? did you have extra software?

Our college maintains a server in which it allocates suppose 100MB space for every student . with the help of map network drive we can access these location . for eg after right clicking we enter \\some_store\userid , and password .. hence our area would open .. HOW to access this area in Linux ??

have a look at "Samba" ^^
and the "location id" is known as a share :-)

the IT staff at your uni should fully be able to setup samba and as far as i know colleges they should have a little howto for exactly their purposes that they could give you.
