Logging a Linux machine into a NT 2000 network

How can I log my linux laptop into my work network. I need to authenticate it to the NT system somehow. Is this possible?
I am trying to find a LDAP similar to loggin in a Novell machine into a NT network, but to no avail.

Are you trying to access remote shares? If thats what you are after, try a graphical samba client like LinNeighborhood or mount the shares from the console. Both those options should ask you for usernames/passwords.
