Localhost
 

Hi guys
this is my first post. i have been using Linux Suse 8.2 for about a month and a half.

my current problem is that i can't access localhost. i need it to use webmin but every time i try to access the page i get the following error.

Could not connect to host localhost (port 10000)

i have made sure that my /etc/hosts file contains the line

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

but it will not work nor will it work for other port addresses.

any help would be gladly accepted

Is webmin runnin and listening on port 10000?
netstat -nlp

i checked and no it isn't. how do i start webmin up. and where is a good point of reference for webmin on the net

Try:
/etc/webmin/start

/etc/webmin/start

that does exist on in the directory only an uninstalled.sh file

where else might i look to start the webmin
