Load test suites for web applications
Does anyone know of any open source load test suites for web applications that are GUI-driven?
I've worked with Rational's suites in the past (they were so-so), and with RSW (now empirix) eTest and eLoad suite (that product was PHENOMENAL but the price is outrageous). eTest/eLoad, as of 2000, was the best suite I've ever seen, You could use eTest to build the framework for the test, it would time how long each component of the page took to download (as well as the entire page), could handle javascript, and those scripts could be scripted and randomized and then be used to drive eLoad profiles for load testing (n) number of users with a varied criteria.
About two years ago I looked into OSS test suites - for windows, and found a few, but was wondering if anyone has any Linux-based load test applications which were GUI driven, and which ones shine from the rest.
Proprietary freeware will do as well, as we won't be redistributing the test suite.
