LiveCD ethernet device recognition

I have a Broadcom 440x 10/100 ethernet card. The Gentoo LiveCD recognizes the card no problem, but my installation of Gentoo does not. It says that eth0 does not exist. Is there a way to see what modules the LiveCD is using to recognize the card and then use these modules in the installation? It seems that if the LiveCD can do it, there should be a way to find out how. Thanks.

you can try
lsmod
while in the live cd

i did some googling and i believe this is the module name:
bcm4400

you may have to download the source and recompile with your current kernel source.
