linuxbox router

i have a linux server has 2 NIC, which will be used for routing local network & dial-up clients.
a. eth0(202.*.*.10)-connected to DSL; local gateway
b. eth1(202.*.*.11)-for local connection sharing
c. 202.*.*.1-ISP assigned gateway
d. with bastille firewall enabled
e. 12 additional public static IP's for dial-up clients (202.*.*15-26)
f. 1 winNT as RRAS (202.*.*.12) for dial-up authentication via radius host (202.*.*.13).
here are my questions:
1. how do configure the linuxbox that will make sure that the IP's (202.*.*15-26) will appear in the internet, NOT the 202.*.*.10 local gateway? so that these IP's can be pinged from the internet.
2. what routing protocol should i use?

thanks a lot!

best regards,

Earl

You can do it this way but it might be easier to just have one
ip for the box.

You need to get the linux box to forward all the packet between interfaces and configure the firewall to not block pings. A traceroute will show that the pings pass though the router machine.

Enable ip forwarding. You need the routing table entrys set so that the default route for packets addressed to outside the local subnet is to 202.*.*.1
The local machines will need their default route set to 202.*.*.11

Personally I'd set up a static entry in the routing table and not use a routing protocol.

In this scenario, the 'inside' nic eth1 should NOT have an address in the same address space as the 'outside' nic, eth0.

Common practice is to use a reserved address space such as 192.168.xxx.xxx for your internal network. These addresses are never used on the internet.
