Wait, you have a dual boot system or 2 machines?

If you have a dual boot system, you should be able to READ the NTFS volume but not write to it. My suggestion for this is to take some space and make a FAT32 partition, both OS's can read and write to a FAT32 partition.

If you mean you have two machines, you need to set up file sharing on the XP box.

Possible indeed!

Do some searching on Samba and you should find a few "how to's" on windows <-> linux networking.

I can't get to Samba.org either. Not even from Win98. Must be off line.

Lightbulb install samba on your box

You should install samba (rpm or whatever packaging system your distro uses) on your linux box and after that you can do a search in your /usr dir for samba doc files.

Probably in /usr/share/doc or something simillar.

Samba is the way to do it.

Or you could take the harddrive from XP-pure machine and put it on the linux machine, mount it (what's that - mount -t ntfs /dev/hdd /mnt/somewhere - do a man mount ) and do the copying if you only need just once to copy. If you need networking samba is the answer, as windows doen't know anything else
