Linux VNC problem

I'm a Linux newbie. I've installed Fedora Core 4 with VNC. I've checked that VNC is running OK. However, when I try to connect from my windows machines I get a low-graphics display (VNC is set to Full - all available colours.) Linux is booting in graphical mode. Any ideas anyone?

Have you made the required changes to your xstartup vnc file? It's located in your .vnc folder.

He's an example xstartup:

Quote:
#!/bin/sh

# Mandrake Linux VNC session startup script
# exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc

[ -x /etc/vnc/xstartup ] && exec /etc/vnc/xstartup
[ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
vncconfig -iconic &
xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
startkde &
