Smile Linux to PC wired ad hoc network with internet sharing

Hello All,

I have spent hours looking for a solution for my problem. I want to create and ad hoc network between a Windows 7 desktop (w/o an internet connection) and a Linux Mint 10 laptop (w/ an internet connection). I want the laptop to recive the signal from it's wireless card, and retransmit it through the ethernet port where the pc will recive it. I don't know much at all about \Linux, but lots about pc's. Please help!

You are actually building a router! In networking, anytime you are trying to move data from one network to another, you are "routing"

this particular type is called Network Address Translation-Masquerade.

Try searching for IPTABLES IP Masquerade HOWTO

This is not difficult, and is a fun project.

I searched on share internet connection iptables and found this HOWTO (there are lots of others).

It says "Only for ubuntu 7.10", but it should work for the newer versions as well.
