linux to linux access
Hey!
My lab has a Redhat 7.0 server with 60 systems runnin Win2K. I have configured samba on my system, the workstation, [ I can't access the server] for linux 2 windows and also windows to linux access. however I'm nonplussed about linux to linux access. How do I access my friends linux box from my linux box. I think it's got something with NFS. /prroc/filesystems does list nfs and smbfs. can anyone help me out? thanx, Abhi p.s The Best Samba tutorial (3 parts) is at http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/samba/ |
If the server run samba too use it ... but from your post I don't think so ;)
A very common way to share files in Unix is NFS (http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/doc...NFS-HOWTO.html) but you need to know if it's active on server and you can access it (you still need username and password) ... just ask to server admin. |
