Linux static Ip configuration


Hi
We have a linux machine connected in a domain network.In the domain one of the system(Windows OS) is connected to the Router.Ca u plz tell me
1.How to make use of router connected system to give Net Connection to the linux machine
2.I need to set up a static IP for the linux machine so that it is accesible from everywhere,(outside the network)
