Exclamation linux router and sonicwall viewpoint

Hi!

This is my problem

I have a simple linux router with two nics. eth0 is for local users (192.168.2.x; 192.168.3.x) I can ping both sides without a problem. On eth1 which connects to a sonicwall and then to the Internet. The clients can get to the Internet without a problem. The problem that I'm facing is the viewpoint reporting (you can generate reports by top usesr and so forth) Well, the sonic wall only sees the second nic of the linux router(eth1) So all the reports are only seeing that one nic. Not all the clients(192.168.2.x). How can I make the sonicwall see all the clients. I think it's something with the linux router????

please help

First of all ... I'm no expert in networking. Having said that it seems clear to me that you are using dual homeming, therefore Nic 0 (local net) will communicate with the outside world through Nic 1 (which forwards the packets ) to the web and back. As a result I do not think you can get reports on the local LAN because the point of dual homeing is that you effectively hide one side of the network from the outside world (the evil Internet).

Hope this helps.

Rick
