Linux Proxy - Squid?

Hi,

I need a proxy server that can do POP3/SMTP/HTTP. I've heard of Squid, but can only see documentation that it does HTTP. Does it support POP3/SMTP? If not, what are some good alternatives?

Cheers!
Nigel

What kind of proxy do you need to do to the POP3/SMTP traffic?
The most used feature of Squid is web cache proxy, even though it handles authentication and various restrictions.
