Linux on a Peer-to-Peer

Hello there.
My father already has a home network set up, using a peer-to-peer IPX linked Win 9x computers. He really doesn't want me to change anything there. This rules out using Linux as a server.
Recently, I added a Linux (Mandrake 8.0) computer to the household, and wish to add it to the network.
Is there any way that I can get my Linux computer to access the rest of the network (files, CD's, and printers), while still acting as a peer-to-peer client?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
oostevo

To interface with a Win network, you need Samba. It lets Linux share files and printers on a Win network, and can be configured as a client or a server. It will run over IPX, but I'm not sure what issues you'll run into there; check the documentation at samba.org. Also, do a search at Google using the key words "samba" and "IPX" (no quotes, of course). Chances are that your distro's installation CDs came with some version of Samba.
