Linux Mint11 Gnome 2.32.1 network (cable) a bit slow? Wired connection.

The Windows PC in the house seems fine, my dad set stuff up & said he had to reset the connection in windows... I have deleted the old connection in Mint thinking that might be the prob., but it is still a bit slow... Even when I connect to the router & it is the slowest one ..

Is the connection funtioning in Mint and the problem is a slow connection? Was Mint working alright previously? You haven't posted any information on your hardware which makes it difficult for anyone to help. You do know that Mint 11 has not bee supported for two and one half years?
