Linux Mandrake 9.0 cannot detect eth card NetGearFA330
Hi!
I am a newbie in Linux (hope to get rid of Windows soon). I use Mandrake 9.0. I bought an ethernet card NetGear FA330/FA331. It seems that drakconf does not indentify my card.So I googled it and download the 'natsemi' drivers, but still it cannot find the card. Any idea? I am using an old machine with Celeron 300. Thnx in advance John :newbie: |
um i use netgear based cards in my linux server and their found with a tulip chip?
any how, i use KUDZU to detect hardware (on redhat) does the card work in windoze? netgear cards come with linux drivers on a CD... try those. |
I didn't try it cause it's a Linux only box.
In the diskette which contains the drivers, there were some drivers for Linux, but there were for RedHat 6.0-7.5 or sth like that. I tried to use them with no luck. I am thinking of trying to pass the arguments myself instead of using auto-probe, but I don't know where to find them.Any idea? Thnx in advance, John  |
no sorry i dont... as i said linux has just configured my hardware.
if it hasnt, i've used another card! i'll have a look later to see... G |
