Linux DSLAM! (e.x. Is it possible to set up a p2p LAN with 2 old adsl modems?)

Dear friends

We'd like to share an aDSL2+ connection (of the building) to the apartments of the building.
But we'd like to do it over a aDSL network instead of ethernet (VLAN) or WiFi.

So i thought that if it is possible to build something like, DSLAM with linux box, it could be great.

Because the people at the appartments should not have to change the existing copper and we could share one aDSL2+ connection to all apartments.

So the plan is :

ADSL2+ at the Building-->Linux (DSLAM)at the Building--->apartments with low-cost adsl (not ADSL2 or ADSL2+) modems.

We could also build Vlan's but it is better to do not apply new cabling.

Thank you in advance!

It's a very complex setup whish..

DSLAM is a complex technology, which is hardware dependend.

You're asking every tenant, to grab a modem for this? (huge expenses needed, while new cabling is way cheaper (or wlan))
Or am i misreading the post?

as far as i've searched, you need a DSLAM box (hardware, which contains specialized cards for the job), and an ATM device (ether pci card or complete system) then you need another box, on the uplink part that acts as gateway.
I cannot find a DSLAM daemon package for linux somewhere.. Only hardware devices (complete dslam routers, to pci cards which are expensive)

Yes. Every tenant could have a (used) cheap aDSL (not aDSL2 or aDSL2+) modem.

I think that i should start looking for used aDSL (not aDSL2 or aDSL2+) DSLAM unit.

P.S. If anyone know where to buy please help.

Thanks.
