Linux Domain & Linux Mail Server
Hello all,
Please help! I am new to Linux and don't know a whole lot about it. My experience has always been in Microsoft area. I have to use Linux as server in a production environment simply because of the cost associated with it as oppose using Microsoft product. In this environment client machines are Windows XP Professional. Users will be using Microsoft Outlook 2003 for their e-mail. I know that a Linux box can be configured as an e-mail server although I don’t know how and it would be nice to know how. My questions are as follows: Can a Linux server be configured in a way that it can be a domain controller? Once the Linux server is configured as a Mail Server, can client computer use their Outlook too get mail? Client machines using Microsoft Exchange Server as their mail server and Outlook, they have the Out Of Office assistance, share calendar meeting, and schedule meetings etc. If the client computers use Linux as their mail server, would they have same functionality as mentioned above? Thank you all for your help.
