Linux Clients in Managed Mac OS Server evironment

At our school, we have a Mac environment (10.4 Server) where the clients and users are managed (with Workgroup Manager). Users log in, their home directory is mounted, etc.

Is it possible to use a Linux client (say Ubuntu or Fedora) to log into the Mac server and mount the user's home directory?

Thanks,
Victor

In theory, yes.
In practice, sysadmins are inclined to be wary of loosing some linux hacker on their system, feeling vulnerable enough as they are. I certainly wouldn't advise you to break rules.

If your sysadmin is ok with this, he will give you the basic info you need - networking protocol, username, password, IPs (you & server) etc. You install client software & configure it.
