Linux 2 Windows Ad-hoc
I have 2 setups, a desktop running:
win xp
Cisco PC4800 DS (aironet 340)
and a laptop:
Debian kernel 2.6
D-link dwl-g650
Now, the trouble i'm having is getting them connected in ad-hoc mode.
I can get my laptop card to do anything from connect to AP's, scna, be an AP or whatever....
I set my card in ad-hoc mode by "iwconfig ath0 mode ad-hoc"
and set the ssid to "evil"
then \go to the windows wireless setup, and under prefered networks, i setup one with the right ssid, and "ad-hoc" enabled.... but windows new ever see's anything.
When i set my laptop to AP mode, i can connect the Desktop to the laptop.... but not in ad=hoc mode.
2 questions:
1. Can i access my desktop when its connected to my laptop in AP mode?? ie: share internet.. (desktop having internet)
2. If not, how would i get them connected together in ad-hoc mode?
Thanks, i've been having lot of trouble with this.
