Question Limiting Upload Speed on Fedora 8

I am running a Fedora Core 8 server at home and I am running a few game servers including Left 4 Dead which is really eating up my upload speeds for some reason. When four users are connected to the server, my upload speeds are the same as when 20 people connect to my Counter-Strike Source server.

I wanted to know if I can limit the upload speeds of my server and my server only, not my pc. I've been looking around and I've seen scripts but I have no idea what do with them, I have minimal knowledge of this part of Linux.

help is greatly appreciated.
