LDAP users with 2 character usernames not seen in RHEL6

We have just recently come across a problem where LDAP users with a 2 character username cannot be seen by RHEL6 operating systems. All other users in the LDAP queries are seen, but not users with 2 character usernames.

On systems that are Centos 5 based, this is not a problem, so I am thinking that there is some configuration change in the LDAP configuration on RHEL6 that I am missing.

This also applies to groups handled by LDAP.

Hi,

Have a look here (last entry on page: Valid User/Group names as determined by NSLCD.): RHEL6 Gotchas

Hope this helps
