ldap + samba PDC

I am using suse 9.3 to to be a PDC using samba 3 and OPENLDAP. My unix (posix) accounts can't be resolved via NSS, I try the example from making users happy and it don't work. this is a copy of my nsswitch.

passwd: files ldap
shadow: files ldap
group: files ldap

#passwd : compat
#group: compat

host: files dns wins
network: files dns

services: files
protocols: files
rcp: files
ethers: files
netmask: files
publickey: files

bootparms: files
automount: files nis
aliases: files

#passwd_compat: ldap
#group_compat: ldap

When I try to join the computer to the domain using root I get "the user name not found"
