Laptop. Slack 14.2/32. Wireless will not initiate until after wired ethernet connected.

12/01/18

Panasonic TB 19.

I do not use wireless every day, but I think it started about 10/08/18. There was a kernel update 0921.

Have been through several tutorials, and am to the point that something is broken between connection between router and laptop connection over wireless.

Router is apple airport extreme v4. Haven't gone into that.

Suggestions welcomed. I am not an IT pro, but can follow a trail.

Thanks.

What is the wireless chipset?

The command lspci issued in a terminal should provide that information; you may have to issue the command as root.

Panasonic Toughbook 19 (2014) Network controller

Reply to Frank Bell:

Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (rev 24).

I checked the router software, and did an update over weekend. going to see if that may have made a difference.
