Lancards Deactivated automatically !!!

Dear all,

Thnks for giving me support before. I need support again.
I've a server having 2 processors, 1GB RAM 4 SCSI HDD in RAID 5, 2 10/100 onboard lancards. System was working fine 2 days ago. O/S is RH Adv. Server 2.4.x kernel. When started the server, its not automatically bring up the eth0 lancard (eth1 has been disable before). It was only bringing up the loopback device. Its not showing any error msg at startup. After login in to the server. I've not found ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1 files in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts dir. I've tried to configure the networking by both ways (1st- using netconfig command, 2nd- create ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1), but when after doing the same and restart the network service it gives error msg -

modeprobe:1762 invalid depebdency
/lib/modules/2.4.9-e.24smp

Where could be the problem and what could be the best possible solution ????

thanks in advance.

Do you have modules installed for network adapters????

if no then check with your hardware vendor to give you the proper rpm`s or tar files to install the modules (drivers).

&

if it is already been done then your network config files should be present in /etc/sysconfig/network-scrips
