Lan Party Networking

Lan Party Networking
------------------------------

Every 2 months I attend Zombie[LAN] in the UK. We're all rigged up to a dell poweredge server, running XP server I think.

What I would like to know is if I can still be rigged up to that network using linux (Fedora Core 4). I currently use Cedega to run games on linux and it would be a great shame to have to install XP again just for the Lan party to play games.

Is this possible? If so, are there any packages or configs I need to do?

I don't see why this wouldn't work. All of the games use the same protocol used on the internet (TCP/IP) and this is well implemented in Linux. If cedega works for you and you can play your games on the internet, you should be able to play the same games in a LAN party. I do this with Half-Life and Counter-Strike using free WINE, and it works great
