LAN is too slow when internet is down

hello all,

i have java application that try to connect a databases server.
when i am try connect to databases server it takes long time
when internet is down, but it works normal when internet is up.
why it should happen when i have LAN
help me to solve this problem.

Perhaps your app tries to use a dns server first to find the IP of the database server. Take a look at your /etc/host.conf and change

order bind, hosts

to

Code:

order hosts, bind

to use your /etc/hosts file before a dns server.
Also add an entry in /etc/hosts for your database server if not already exists.

its working fine,but the entry of server IP should be in client hosts file
and entry of client IP should be in server hosts file
