LAN Games Through Router

I am in a college dorm and have my computer and video games systems networked through a router.... is it possible to play LAN games with others outside of the room? If so, how?

Thanks

More info is needed for a definite answer.
First of all, make sure you have the permission of your college to do this if you plan on utilizing part of their network infrastructure! Some colleges might not care to see their bandwidth eaten up for non-academic purposes.

Secondly, it may depend to some extent on the particular game. Providing that info may get you more responses from folks that are familiar with the game and what the practical limitations are.

I am trying to play Halo 2 and UT2004 and the school allows 2GB/Day Down... up I don't know... Sorry for not providing this information as I really don't know where to begin on this. I'm running a 4-Port Linksys router.

Thanks

I'm not sure about Halo 2, but I am fairly certain you can play UT2004 over the Internet. So you probably just need to set your computer up as a server, and everyone who wants to play can connect to your IP. However, I didn't find much information by visiting their web site. Is there any documentation that came with the game (either) that might provide a clue? What options do you use for computers that are directly connected to your router?
