Lan Connection

I am running XP Pro and have an Asus mainboard with onboard Lan connection,Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit ethernet adapter. I have tried using Mepis and Knoppix live CD's and neither one will pick up the Network.
Any suggestions?

Hi there,

I had the same problem, googled around, went to Linux-forums, nowhere an answer.
I suggest that you try out another live version like DSL or Suse mini (DSL is great, it
is only 54Mb and bootable from memory stick.

If these versions won't work maybe buy another card, a 10/100 Mb is not that expensive

Consider buying a cheap-ass, used 3Com card. Not ideal, but having ancient, well-known hardware can at least get you running.
