kppp stalled

hi everyone!

a couple of hours ago I installed FC2 on my old athlon 1500 desktop pc.

i'm running kde , i configured kppp to connect with my isp here in itlay (Virgilio) but when i connect i receive this message:

"Ascend TNT terminal server

system password:"

and then nothing...it stalles or that's what i see since there is no red light flashing on my modem
it might be waiting for some info's from the isp's server but i've got an ISDN connection so the password check thing should be quite fast!!

the ascend tnt server should be the one that manages the user-to-isp connection...

please help,
thanks!
