Unhappy Kppp and gnome ppp both seem to work but can't get to the internet

Hello I have kubuntu 8.10 up using KPPP it look like it starts a ppp and I get the logon with the details there is no TX or RX on the modem.

Also check ifconfig with it dialed out it looks right compare it to my windows box. also check the name server it has temp as set by KPPP and they are right
