Hello all the LQ users.
I just wanted to know what do I say for my my proxy settings?
Well it sure is a silly question but hey LQ is for help.
I got a Linksys WAG54G which I want to connect with. My NIC is running. All my settings are fine except for my proxy settings.
For extra help I am providing with my proxy details.
ALL PROXY SERVER ADDRESS: proxy1.emirates.net.ae
PORT: 8080
COUNTRY: U.A.E.

You shouldn't need to use a proxy at all, doesn't UAE filter web traffic to it's citizens? if it does just add that information into konqueror to avoid getting into trouble but you might as well just use a direct connection to the internet (no proxy settings) if they don't.

If you feel you need to set them its Settings->Configure Konqueror.. and then select 'Proxy' in the side bar. But as megadsonic said if your internet access is working fine as it is then you don't need to use a proxy.

That looked like the Fedora network control panel, if you're using Suse you'll have a similar thing in YAST somewhere. As for the proxy server you can set it in Settings->Configure Konqueror as I said above, if you don't know the proxy settings you'll have to ask your ISP
