Hello,
I use Kubuntu 7.04. When I connect to the internet I can browse only as root(via "kdesu konqueror"). I have opera extracted to /home/user folder and I am able to use opera to browse the web. However I also want to use konqueror as an ordinary user.
How do I set it so that it can browse the web as ordinary user?
I have the exact same problem. For me, when trying to open some a website with Konqueror as a simple user it says it cannot find the host.
All other KDE/non-KDE applications seem to work fine.
Any ideas what's wrong or how to fix?
Thanks.

google01103, it didn't work right out of the box. Another solution, admittedly more ugly is adding the user to the adm and admin groups. It works then.

Bad (very bad) security, but since Konqueror is not my primary browser I can live without using the cache.
