Knoppix 3.3 and 3.4 doesn't recognise the network card on one of my desktops. It does on my other desktop and also on my laptop.
Suse 9.1 Desktop Live Eval recognises all network cards and on the offending desktop as a 3c940. Is there a way to get knoppix to recognise the 3c940 network card?
Should stop this rut I've got into. Spend hours trying to fix a problem using google and LinuxQuestions. Get nowhere. Raise a thread. Do about 15 minutes more googling. Find a fix!
Hey there,
a little off-beat from your original question and post, but I am looking for some help and I see that you have a Travan 40GB TapeDrive as listed in your computer parts.
I see you also have been working with SUSE 9.1.
Ok, here's my problem. I used to have RedHat 9.2 on my computer. But then after finding that RedHat was disappearing in the enduser side I looked elsewhere. Finding that SUSE is come up and backed by Novell I have turned towards it's product and purcahsed that.
After upgrading I am finding that I can't get my Travan40 tapedrive working, and I really need some help. I have been attempting to Google, but coming up empty for a couple days on my problem. HELP!!
I am currently using a XPC Shuttle computer. The HardDrive is on the Primary IDE Channel alone. I have a DVDROM as Master and the Tape as Slave on the Secondary IDE channel.
The tape is recognized by the BIOS as I see it as it boots up, it's just SUSE that appears to be having the issue.
