Kisoks

I have a question about setting up a kisok.. I am a network administrator Minnesota Sate Community and Technical College basically what I want to do is set up site that is a locked down server... Basically So students are only able to access the minnesota.edu page and then only college websites or links on that page... Also nothing in an address bar.. so they cant put anything in favorites.. really locked down basically so they can view the contents of the page and go to the specific links we want them to view.. we also need a back door so we can make different configuration changes as needed. I am assuming that is accomplished by logging on as SU as root. Any additional info you need or need I can provide. Please email me if you would be able assist with this or answer here in the forum. Thank you,
~Brian

I did that last year... This kiosk was to run a particular java application in video stores and we had to reduce the access to this application only... I will check if I can find the docs I did. at that time...

You have crossposted a message, which is against the LQ Rules. Cross-posting is considered bad netiquette on your part, a waste of resources on LQ's part and a waste of time for LQ members who take the time your question.
Please do not do that again.

so exactly what are kisocks? All I came up with when I googled your original spelling "kisoks" was about kiosks. I've never heard of kisoks.

Cross-posting is where you post the same thread in many forums, also known here as double posting.

The Rule is: pick the correct forum, post your question once. If you think it's in the wrong place, report the post to a moderator and we will move it.

From the Rules you agreed to when signing up
Do not post the same discussion in more than one forum. Duplicate discussions can be frustrating for other members. Try and pick the most relevant forum for your post. If you are unsure put it in Linux - General.
Ring any bells?

Er, LuggerHouse, I don't think you are being accused of anything. You didn't create the topic.

To clarify - Mysticpain is the cross poster.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
