kernel: NET: 606 messages suppressed

Hello everyone,

I am seeing this randomly in my messages log.

kernel: NET: 606 messages suppressed
kernel: NET: 1432 messages suppressed
kernel: NET: 2121 messages suppressed

This does not happen all the time but at random intervals. Also I am not sure what message the kernel is acctualy suppressing as it is not shown in the log. Some site suggested that this is possibly an indication of DOS. Performance of the server is sluggish at times and server has a tendency to freeze up for up to 7 seconds at the time and the log shows those messages.

Does this message mean anything to anyone and does anyone know how to check of acctualy what the kernel is suppressing?

Thanks,

Conrad

version?

Someone could prolly help more with a little bit more information on your system. Do you have an exotic network interface? Kernel version? Distro? all that good stuff ;)
