Joining a machine from another domain to my linux samba domain

I and running samba 2 on redhat 9 and my windows (client machine is 2000 professional).

The windows 2000 machine is also my work machine (laptop) and has domains allready registered, even at home I "log" on to my work domain and use the cached profile. This works well for unplugging my computer from work, bringing it home and plugging into my local network.

Problem:
If I try to access my home samba server, I get
"There are currently no logon servers to service the logon request".
As a work around, I logged on to the local machine as another user, added that to the samba config, password etc and I was able to access the shares, printers etc.

What I want to do is be able to use my cached profile on the laptop and still be able to access the share on my linux server.

Has any one looked at this before (with sucess)?
