jabber
I'm trying to setup a jabber server on a debian sarge 3.1 2.6 stable is any link i could follow to see some proper documentation about it ?

You don't say which version of jabber server you're running - I'm assuming it's jabber 1.4 or jabber 2. Have a look at http://jabberd.jabberstudio.org/1.4/

In the jabber.xml i have just named the server with my FQDN and in jabber.cfg the same what else am i supposed to do to get it running,the defaults should be right!

I don't know what gets installed by the Debian packages - have you checked your configuration against the Jabber docs at http://jabberd.jabberstudio.org/2/docs/index.html?
