Itex PCI and Redhat 9.0 or Fedora Core-1

I have searched hi and low for clear instructions to get a PCI Itex based ADSL modem to work with Redhat 9.0 or Fedora Core-1. There are tonnes of sites out there devoted to this, but it seems I am missing something fundamental. I have successfully gotten this device to work with Redhat 7.1, Redhat 6.2. I have tried stock redhat 9.0 kernels, custom compiled ones etc. Has anyone out (I mean anyone) gotten this device to work with Redhat 9.0 or Fedora Core-1. The reason I am trying hard for these distros is I utilize an Acx100 TI Wireless card in this system as well. It works perfectly. Emails, posts, I will accept anything at this point.

Do you have a ITeX i90134 chip?

I have Telewell IA300 on my MDK9.2, and it "seems" to be working.. (Not tested yet, my isp opens the line in 5 weeks..)

I searched Dr. Google for a driver, and found one called "twin1483-2.4.16.o"

after "insmod -f twin1483-2.4.16.o vpi=0 vci=100 framing = 0"
and "ifconfig <my_own_settings>", doing a "dmesg" gives the following info:
******************************************************
itexadsl: LINUX_VERSION_CODE = 132111 (0x2040f)
itexadsl: vpi/vci=0/100 framing=0
itexadsl: version= 2.2.7.ITEXPC86.0005 , built date= Thu Feb 7 11:16:17 PST 2002
itexadsl: card# 0, ix=0x0, bus=0x0, fn=0x68, ven=0x1471, dev=0x188
itexadsl: total 1 card(s) found.
itexadsl: irq=0xb, ioaddr=0xd400, membase=0xdffe0000
itexadsl: card #0 - MAC: 00:30:eb:c0:0f:c2 from eeprom.
itexadsl: ITeX i90134 chip.
eth0: Hardware address : 00:30:eb:c0:0f:c2
Into the GenCRC10Table
Finished the GenCRC10Table
itexadsl: modem line disconnected.
card #0 - current modem state : ACTIVATING.
*****************************************************

...and doing a tail /var/log/messages gives this...
*****************************************************
Apr 9 10:39:16 Apollo kernel: Finished the GenCRC10Table
Apr 9 10:39:16 Apollo /etc/hotplug/net.agent: invoke ifplugd eth0

Apr 9 10:39:18 Apollo kernel: itexadsl: modem line disconnected.
Apr 9 10:39:22 Apollo kernel: card #0 - current modem state : ACTIVATING.
******************************************************

and a "ifconfig eth0" shows that the device is working.
but, as said, I cannot be sure of it yet..

Hope that this one helps at least a bit..

P.S I tried itex1483-2.4.8.o too, it loads but gives a "segmentation fault". Does anyone know why?
