ISDN Router on Fedora Core 2 - Please Help!

I just got a Cisco 776 ISDN router.
I'm trying to access the internet from Fedora Core 2 with no luck. Trying to access a site doesn't seem to cause any action from the router.
I've set the gateway to the ip of the router. I've added the dns servers.
It works fine from windows (on the same machine). IP/subnet mask/gateway + dns are set the same in both operating systems.

What am I missing?

I can ping the router.
Also, I can telnet to the router but it seems a bit slow to connect.

The problem might be with DNS. It gets stuck at resolving host.
What can I do differently with DNS. I've specified the primary and secondary DNS servers from my ISP.

What can I do to see how windows and linux are doing things differently here?

Thanks
