Is there Something Better than NFS?

After two long months of playing with NFS and NIS, I still have no network! Im simply trying to share files between three computers on my network. I have read every freakin piece of material that I could find on the subject and tried everything possible. But I QUIT!

Is there a better way to fileshare between linux computers than NFS?

Yes there is something better! Enter...the Apache Webserver! By simply placing Apache on all three machines Im able to share files that exist on one machine by adding them to Apache's htdocs and then download them from another machine...Zapp!
