is there a shell command to see nnetwork traffic/packets


I would like to see the network traffic from my machine i.e. packets sent & recieved and maybe ip addresses communicating to and from......loads of thanks to the person who can answer my question

install iptraf, then type:
# iptraf

you could also see ethereal , its a network protocol analyzer that will tell you everything thats going in ur network
