Is there a reason why i can't connect to aim or yahoo?
 

I'm using kde 3.3 and Slackware 10.0 but when i had 3.2 which was a couple days ago i was able to connect but even when i had 3.2 i wasn't able to connect either for some reason... i've completly formated my comp hard drive, which it now has slack and kde 3.3 and i can't connect. I've tried kopete and gaim. When my friend was on his laptop using XP i was able to connect using Yahoo IM with my s/n just fine, now it wont connect to Yahoo or Aim at all.... His laptop was through my isp... Any ideas? Thanks

Oh and btw, my internet works fine when i use firefox if that counts as any help...

Yahoo messes with their protocol/authentication on a regular bases. Make sure that you have the latest version of whatever software you are using. I would highly recommend Gaim gaim.sourceforge.net

yeah i have gaim and kopete installed and i haven't been able to connect with either of them...
