Is my device SNMP enabled?
 
Hi folks,
I want to know whether my device is SNMP enabled or not. Device in the sense it can be any network entity like a desktop or a server or a router or a copier.
I think we can check that in case of desktops or server running linux using the command
Code:
chkconfig --list|grep snmpd
But what about desktops/servers running solaris or windows.
Most importantly what about devices like a copier or a router which won't have any OS running on them??

A device is SNMP enabled if the manual says it is, and you configure the SNMP settings on it correctly, not sure what else we could possibly say. The more complex a device is, the more likely it supports SNMP.
