Is a adsl backup to a cable modem conection posible?

the idea is to have a linux box with a cablemodem and add adsl to the same box. when the cablemodem goes down keep using the adsl conection. if this is posible how can it be done?
it would be cool the have a balanced conection then if the cm drops internet keeps on working with the adsl.

isssh using both connection at the SAME time isn't very possible due to routing table limitation. However, if you feel geek, you might want to use freaking iptables rules, as example to send all http trafic to a certain host (your dsl isp as example) and all ftp to another (the cable provider) but it will be very very hard to use
