ipop3 - Miniumum Length for a Username?

After screwing around for months with my ipop3 daemon, I have come to the realization that only my 4-letter user names (and I presume smaller) are being blocked, as my much longer user names for mail are allowed access.

Is it just me, or have other people noticed this, or have known about it. Is there a setting for it somewhere. Any documentation? Thanks!

Steve

it's pam related (Pluggable authentication module). u need to look for it's documentation to use the correct module defined in /etc/pam.d (if i remember right). otherwise, u'll need to have your pop3 server authenticate somewhere else (ie. *sql, etc..) instead of the default.
