IP routing with webmin 2.0

Hi Guys,

I need your thoughts on this scenario. I'm working on a computer lab which has 192.168.100.xxx subnets and my DSL is connected on that network subnets in which workstations have internet access using NAT services of Windows 2003 server. Then, I have another network which has these IP addresses 192.168.10.xxx, these group of subnets are run with linux systems including the server with fully qualified DNS enabled.

Now, I want linux workstation to have internet access. My first option is to change the subnets to 192.168.100.xxx so that they could see each other windows and linux. However, my CEO does not accept with that option because of security reasons. My second option is to route gateway from my linux server box such like this GW: 192.168.10.10 to route 192.168.100.1 (DNS and gateway of windows 2003 server).

Is that possible in routing and does it really works? Can it be configured thru webmin 2.0 interface? I've found under networking tab which has routing and gateways but I don't know how to go with it. Please help........ thanks...

If they are on separate physical networks and your 192.168.10.10 has an interface to both:
A) Enabling IP forwarding ( On the 192.168.10.10 Linux server )
B) adding a route in the linux server: route add default gw 192.168.100.1 <if-dev>
C) For the other linux hosts, make this Linux server the default gateway: route add default gw 192.168.10.10 <if-dev>
D) I think that the module ip_conntrack may be needed for ip_forwarding to function.

I had something similar before I got wireless working on my desktop. A wired connection existed to a router that my printer is plugged into. My laptop was also plugged into the computer. I set up this router for a 192.168.1.128/255.255.255.128 network and the wireless router network for 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.128. Then I enabled ip_forwarding on my laptop. It's eth0 interface was 192.168.1.130. I set this as the default gateway for the desktop and on the laptop, 192.168.1.1 using wlan0. This routed internet traffic through my laptop and to the wireless router.
