IP Masq
I am trying to setup ip Masuerade at home right now and i am getting the following error. "Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be up graded." "Iptables v1.2.2: cant initialize iptabes table 'mangle' : iptables who? (do you need to insmod?)
Can someone help me?? I dont want to update kernel although i should i am running 2.2.19 on slackware 8 . Help Please

i *think*, but might be wrong, that iptables can only be used with 2.4+ kernels, as that was where netfilter came in. on 2.2 you should be using ipchains, whch is very similar

I definately know you can't use iptables with a 2.2.x series kernel. With Slack 8 you have all the modules compiled to use ipchains, which is the MASQ/Nat routing stuff for 2.2.x
Acid_kewpie is dead on.
man ipchains, or post what you need here or in the Security forum and they can help...
